Sifting through all the 90s club music I danced (poorly) to, I was delighted to come across Culture Beat‘s “Mr. Vain.” The dance hit would reach number 1 in 8 countries and give the group–led at the time by vocalist Tania Evans and rapper Jay Supreme–their biggest hit ever.
If, like me, you spent more time on your sick moves than on thinking about the future (or paying rent), then you’ll recall there was a followup to the song from that same 1993 album, Serenity. While it wasn’t a “Mr. Vain”-level hit in the U.S., it shot up the charts across the globe. Check it out:
