Let's Make Mixtapes

Keeping your childhood pop icons alive…even the ones you thought were dead.

You probably know Jon Cryer from his famous run on the CBS sitcom “Two and a Half Men” which aired from 2003-20015. And you should know him from a really great 80s movie called Pretty in Pink where he played the lovelorn Ducky, opposite Molly Ringwald. Hopefully, you also recall his turn in a fun movie that came out in 1987 called Hiding Out. Cryer played a witness testifying against the mob who had to live as a high school student to avoid being murdered (and, oh, that hair!)

Most importantly, you hopefully know that a really great dance song was featured on the soundtrack to that film by the band Pretty Poison, “Catch Me (I’m Falling).” The song was a #1 dance chart hit (and number #8 on the Hot 100 chart.) Maybe you knew, that a remix the following year helped it groove its way back onto the dance charts at a respectable #48. Now, with all those things you probably/maybe/should know, you may not know that Pretty Poison had already released a great dance song which hit #14 on the dance charts. The single would later be added to their 1988 release Catch Me I’m Falling, which, as you definitely know, featured their big hit of the same name. Whatever you do or do not know, know this: You should ride the flashback wave with me and hit play on the following clip for “Nighttime.”
