Let's Make Mixtapes

Keeping your childhood pop icons alive…even the ones you thought were dead.

There’s no mistaking the voice of Shawn Mullins. On July 7, 1998, Mullins released his fourth studio album, Soul’s Core, which contained his biggest hit ever, “Lullaby.” That spoken-word/sung tale of a kid growing up amongst the stars (not the gaseous bodies in the sky; the ones living in the Hills next door to Cher and Bob Dylan), climbed to the #1 spot on the Adult Contemporary chart and #9 on the Modern Rock chart.

A second single from the album, “Shimmer” would reach #27 on the AC chart. Though it remains his biggest-selling album to date, he continues to stay humble and work hard. Since Core, he’s released five more studio albums, most recently, 2015s My Stupid Heart. Before you scoot on over to the interwebs to check out his new stuff, let Mullins rock you into a peaceful groove with “Lullaby.”
