Let's Make Mixtapes

Keeping your childhood pop icons alive…even the ones you thought were dead.

You know those artists whose names, when mentioned in any crowd, are instantly recognizable? Cyndi Lauper fits snuggly in that category. There isn’t a person on the planet (with electricity) who hasn’t been exposed to the magic that is Cyndi Lauper. She released her first album, She’s So Unusual, on October 14, 1983, and almost 34 years later, in 2016, she released her 11th studio album.

And while we could all rattle off songs by Cyndi and other superstars, there are those songs that were either released but failed to chart, or were never released (even though us superfans know it would have been in a hit.)

In Cyndi’s case, that song came off of her 1993 album, Hat Full of Stars. It’s a great album, co-produced by 90s mix master, Junior Vasquez. The song–which sits comfortably atop my list of favorite Cyndi Lauper singles–is “Who Let In the Rain.” Take a listen…
